What: SharePoint 2010 for school websites
When: February 6, 2012 - 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM (lunch will be provided 12:00-12:45 PM)
Where: Southgate Middle School - Room B13
  • Welcome, introdutions, posting guidelines and logging into the system.
  • Demonstration and review of websites - focus on types of content in each area and brief demonstration of key functionality.
  • Basic site editing tools:
    • Adding pictures
    • Editing static content
    • Check-in/out
    • Publishing
  • Hands on work with the system covering:
    • News and announcements
    • Calendars
    • Publications
    • Picture libraries
    • Document libraries (adding, deleting, managing, connecting to Outlook, Word, Syndication from internal to external sites
    • Lists, libraries and web parts
    • Content editor web parts
    • Content query web parts
